Toqburneh is a creative non-fiction short. The place is a familiar apartment on the outskirts of a desert town in Egypt. A man sorts through his name and redraws the journey back to a time not so long ago. A time so far away, so distant from what reality looks like in the present day. He finds his gratitude though, in revisiting the magic of that familiar apartment.
The story is as published in the Westerly magazine of Australia, issue 63.1, including headings, short biography and footer with page numbers.
